William Ransom Rose Co. C 72 O.V.I. b. 29 August 1843, On October 8, 1868, he married Jane Margaret Snodgrass at Sharonville, Ohio. He died a 18 June 1923 at his home in La Harpe, Kansas.
Acord, James Madison , Sr. Private in the Civil War, B-1 OHA
(1830-1897) Born in Muskingum County, his father brought the family to Ross
county in 1843. He married in Pike Co. in 1854 and except for a couple of years
in Ross County, he lived the rest of his life (about 40 years) in Jackson twp.,
Pike County, near the Ross County line. He is buried in the Caldwell Cemetery
near Richmondale, Ross County. He has many descendants buried in Omega. His
father, John Acord, owned land on Whiskey Run, Pike County. His son, Joseph
Acord, owned land near Hay Hollow. His grandson, Will H. Acord, was probate and
juvenile judge of Pike County for almost 43 years.
