| Born Charles Watkin known as Charles Watkin Starr was
born in Pike Co. 30 August 1978. Began his baseball career with
the St. Louis Browns 29 April 1905 and played mostly as a second
baseman. Played for the Pittsburg Pirates in 1908, Boston Doves in 1909
and the Philadelphia Phillies also in 1909 his last game played was 19
August 1909. He also played as a shortstop and 3rd baseman.
Charlie played in 110 games and batted 375 times with a career batting
average of 211 and scored 20 runs. He batted left handed and
throwed right handed. He died at the age of 59 in Pasadena, CA 18
Oct 1937 and was cremated.
Charles Watkins was born Nov 1877 in Newton twp., Pike Co., Ohio,
the son of Charles & Lydia "Lizie" Rodgers Watkins.
They are enumerated in the 1880 census. information
