NEWS

On March 11, 2012 Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene, 25 Arnett Drive, Franklin Furnace, Ohio welcomed Rev. and Mrs. Andy Ramey as the church’s new pastoral family. Rev. Andy Ramey is an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene and is the new senior pastor of the church. He has been in full time ministry for almost fourteen years. He and his wife, Rachel, have been married for twelve years and are the parents of two beautiful children, Drew, age 11 and Emilee, age 7. Rachel is also a special needs teacher and plays a large role in the ministry at Plymouth Heights as she assists Rev. Ramey in his work.

Rev. Ramey stated, "We are so excited to be a part of such a terrific church. We are striving to not simply be a church in Franklin Furnace but THE church of Franklin Furnace. We want the people in our community and all around us to know that this is their church. Already we have seen great things happening through the ministries of our church. We work with the STAR Community Justice Center; we have a great food pantry ministry with the Neighbor to Neighbor program, and we have excellent youth and teen programs. We have just celebrated the Easter season where our church choir and drama team performed an Easter drama, "Bow the Knee" and we saw 30 people won to the Lord".

Rev. Ramey concluded, saying, "There are many great things that the Lord has for us as we move forward. In late September, 2012, Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene will be celebrating its 50th year anniversary. We anticipate many wonderful things to come as we do our best to love God, love people and introduce the world to Christ".

Why Shouldn’t Christians Accept Millions of Years?

Darwin's book has a racist title: On the Origin of Species by Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life

The Pilgrims comforted themselves on their journey by singing Psalms.  This "noise" irritated one of the ships paid crewmembers.  He told the Pilgrims he was looking forward to throwing their bodies overboard after they died from the routine illnesses common on such voyages.  As it turned out he was the only person to die on the trip and was thrown overboard.

This is quite interesting. Allow it a minute to load - it is well-done, illuminating, and a little amazing, as it shows empires, colonies, and states come and go throughout history in just a matter of seconds. It's a constantly changing map of the Middle East and Europe, illustrating how various "empires" have risen and fallen.
